How to use StemSplit Studio.

Short, practical guides for every tool on the site — from splitting a song into six stems to making slowed + reverb remixes. Pick a section below and follow the steps.

Quick start

Split your first song in three steps

The whole flow takes under a minute for a typical 3–4 minute track.

Open the Studio & add a song

Click Open Studio, then drag an MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or M4A onto the drop zone — or click it to browse. No file handy? Hit Try the built-in demo track. The file is decoded in your browser and never uploaded.

Wait for the AI separation

The on-device engine runs harmonic/percussive analysis and splits the mix into six stems: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other instruments. Progress is shown live; you can cancel at any time.

Mix and export

Balance the stems with volume, pan, pitch and tempo, loop sections you care about, then press Export WAV to download your mix — or Save project to keep everything for later.

Studio walkthrough

Every control, explained

A closer look at what each part of the Studio does once your song is loaded.

1 The transport bar

The round play button (or Space) starts and pauses playback, the square button stops and rewinds. The time readout shows where you are in the song. On the right you'll find the MASTER fader with a live level meter — it controls the overall output volume of your mix.

2 The six stem cards

Each stem — Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Other — gets its own card with a mini waveform, a level meter and four controls:

  • Volume — the fader for that stem, from silence up to 150%.
  • Pan — place the stem anywhere from full left to full right in the stereo field.
  • Pitch — shift the stem up or down by up to 12 semitones without changing its speed. Requires HTTPS (see the FAQ).
  • Tempo — speed the stem up or slow it down from 50% to 200% without changing its pitch.

The M button mutes a stem and S solos it — solo one stem to hear it fully isolated, which is perfect for learning drum parts or pulling out a bass line.

3 Waveform, regions & looping

Click the big waveform to jump anywhere in the song. Drag across it to select a loop region, then press Loop (or L) to repeat that section endlessly. Use Clear region to remove the selection. This is the fastest way to practice a solo or study a drum fill.

4 A/B compare

The MIX A / B chips store two complete mix states — every fader, pan, pitch and tempo value. Set up mix A, press B, and the Studio saves your current settings into slot A and loads slot B; the swap button (⇆) copies one state into the other. Flip between A and B to hear two balances back-to-back, just like A/B-ing a reference track.

5 Saving and exporting

Save project packs your whole session — the audio itself, all six faders, pans, pitch/tempo values, the loop region and both A/B slots — into one portable file you can reopen later with Open project. Export WAV renders what you're hearing to a standard 16-bit stereo WAV, ready for video edits, mashups or DJ sets.

How to use each free tool

Every tool follows the same idea: drop a file, tweak, download. Here are the specifics.

Karaoke instrumentals and acapellas in seconds.

  1. 1 Drop a song into the drop zone — it is analyzed on your device only.
  2. 2 Pick a mode: Karaoke (music only), Acapella (vocals only) or Full mix.
  3. 3 Balance the two volume faders and loop any section you want to study.
  4. 4 Download either stem as a WAV with its Download WAV button.

Find the key, scale and tempo of any track.

  1. 1 Upload a song — the analysis starts automatically.
  2. 2 Read the detected Key & Scale, BPM and a confidence bar for each value.
  3. 3 In a hurry? Tap the Tap tempo button (or press T) along with the beat for an instant cross-check.
  4. 4 Use the results to plan mashups, DJ sets or practice in the right key.

Change pitch and tempo independently.

  1. 1 Upload a track and wait for the waveform to appear.
  2. 2 Drag the Semitones slider (±12 st) to transpose; drag the Tempo slider (50–200%) to speed up or slow down.
  3. 3 Watch the derived BPM readout update live as you move the sliders.
  4. 4 Export the result as a WAV file.

Slowed + Reverb and Nightcore, in a couple of clicks.

  1. 1 Upload a song, then start from a preset: Slowed + Reverb or Nightcore.
  2. 2 Fine-tune speed, pitch, reverb amount and bass boost to taste.
  3. 3 Preview the remix and trim the start/end if you only want a section.
  4. 4 Render and download as MP3 or WAV.

Trim any track to the exact part you need.

  1. 1 Upload a file and drag on the waveform to select the part you want to keep.
  2. 2 For frame-accurate edges, move the playhead and press I (start) and O (end) — or type the times in.
  3. 3 Add short fade-in/out ramps to avoid clicks at the edges.
  4. 4 Preview the selection, then download it as a WAV.

Merge several tracks into one file.

  1. 1 Add two or more audio files — they appear as a list.
  2. 2 Reorder tracks with the arrow buttons until the running order is right.
  3. 3 Choose the transition: a plain cut, a silence gap or a smooth crossfade with adjustable length.
  4. 4 Export the merged result as a single WAV.

Record your voice over any karaoke track — right in the browser.

  1. 1 Upload the backing track you want to sing over.
  2. 2 Allow microphone access when the browser asks — the recording happens locally and is never uploaded.
  3. 3 (Optional) Tune your voice to the track's key with the pitch control, and set the karaoke volume so you can hear yourself comfortably.
  4. 4 Press Record (or R) and sing along; press again to stop.
  5. 5 Download your voice alone or the complete song (backing + vocals) as a WAV.

Tips & troubleshooting

A few habits that make every tool work better.

  • Use HTTPS. Real-time pitch shifting uses AudioWorklet, which browsers only enable on secure pages. Everything else works on plain HTTP too.
  • Mind the song length. Six full stereo stems are kept in memory, so songs up to ~5–6 minutes process most reliably. Longer files may hit your device's memory limit — a warning appears if that happens.
  • Prefer good-quality sources. A clean 256 kbps MP3 or higher separates noticeably better than a low-bitrate or heavily clipped file.
  • Free up RAM on mobile. Close other tabs and apps before processing a long track on a phone or tablet.
  • Use headphones when recording. In the Recorder, headphones stop the backing track from bleeding into the microphone.
  • Nothing happens when you click? Make sure JavaScript is enabled and any aggressive ad-blocker or privacy extension is paused for this site — the tools need JavaScript to run.
  • Still stuck? Check the FAQ or write to us at info@tuti.lt — include the page you were on, your browser and what you expected to happen.
